Summer Time!
Holy Cow! What have we been doing for the last month & a half? I have no idea! We feel like we went back to Washington for our summer, because it has been so cool & rainy! I love it, but it makes it not feel like summer is really here. But I think that will all change soon!
Connor's 6th grade class (along w/ another class) wrote, composed, made the costumes, and the backdrops... they did everything for their operas! Connor's class was about the Egyptians. & he was a "grave robber" He made his costume by himself & it was fun to see him participate & sing. (he wishes he didn't, but he still has a wonderful singing voice!) He also graduated from 6th grade, and is moving on to Jr.High.
Kennedy is so excited to move on to 4th grade! & she had a lot of fun with the 3rd grade singing in the patriotic program w/ Pony Express. She sang a "solo" part on the song American Tears. It is a great song & she did a fantastic job! We are all proud of her! They also got to sing @ Pony express days, with Sen. Bob Bennett. (It was a really good thing Bill stayed home...he had some things for me to say to him, but I decided it would be best not to say those kind of things @ a family thing!)
then came pony express days & the girls were in the parade. I wish I could have gotten a picture of them before the parade started, but they danced their little hearts out(hula) and had a great time throwing out candy to everyone! speaking of candy, Clayton got SO much of it! We sat in this great spot @ the beginning of the parade & Connor didn't want any candy, so Clay got it all! We ended up leaving the parade w/ balloons, otter pops, t shirts, and a garbage bag full of candy. It was a lot of fun! I has to hide the candy & now I think I lost it! Maybe we will find it in time to pass it out for Halloween?
I will try to stay updated!

Claire's Tree
It is about time! I finally got Claire a tree.
I have planted a tree for each child, but have postponed planting one for Claire, but the other day I found one just for Claire. If you look at it you will see that it is very tiny, but she is so excited to have it be just her size. She has her special watering can & she helped me plant it, too! (I hope it is not too small, & doesn't get pulled out, or mistaken for a sword!) It is a flowering pear tree & we are hopeful for this little tree! It is well loved already! (I wish I could get away with gardening in my swimming suit!)

Time to catch up!
Clayton has lost his first tooth! He had a few loose teeth & one has been hanging on for dear life! I have begged him to let me pull it out, but no way! Connor sat Clayton down & told him that his tooth needed to come out & if he pulled it out Clayton would just feel a quick tug & there might be a little blood, but then the tooth fairy would come & he could play Connor's Wii! That is what did it! Clayton has been grounded from the Wii for a while...so a few minutes later out they come with Clayton in shock & his first tooth in his hand! That night the tooth fairy came, and I went in his room to see what he got for his tooth & Clayton was in bed, very quiet! I asked him what the tooth fairy brought him & then came the tears! He explained that he "hates the tooth fairy! & that "she is so stupid!" I found out that she took his tooth & left him NOTHING in return. I assured him that she was nice & I know she left him something. we took his bed apart & found his dollar at the foot of his bed, under his blankets! He was then very excited & couldn't wait to tell his class. (they have a chart for all the kids who have lost teeth) Well, he had a sub that day & had to wait until the next day!
While Bill was working out of town, my Dad came by with a project for Connor. They spent the day building garden boxes for my garden! Grandpa had Connor build them & he showed Connor how to use the drill, & make sure they were square & in just the right spot! He even made little plaques for Connor to put on the boxes showing that he made them & when! It was very cool & I think they both enjoyed themselves! Connor was very excited to walk away from the project with his very own drill set as well! Thanks Grandpa!
now I need to get busy & plant something in my garden!
WAL*MART is open in Saratoga Springs! What a great thing to happen out here! We went to the grand opening party on Saturday & they had free face painting,(Clayton wanted nothing to do with that)Free Lego make & take, water bottles, drinks, balloons, & samples. Claire loved getting her face painted & asked all day if her makeup was "still the same" She thought she was going to wear it to church & was sad when I had to wash it off.
Today Bill's job wasn't ready for him yet so he & Claire went on a date! They look so cute. Thier plans are to go to Ikea & look for a bed for her! I wonder if they will come home with something?
